Patients at St. Luke’s Internal Medicine have their own personal physician. Each internist has his or her own group of patients, but we also provide after-hours and vacation coverage for each other. Therefore, if you require urgent after-hours or weekend care, you may see someone other than your personal physician.

We also utilize physician assistants (PAs) and nurse practitioners (NPs). These are trained individuals who assist our physicians in the everyday care of our patients.

In some instances, your physician may not have any available appointments. If you have an acute illness, we often can get you an appointment with our PA or NP. If needed, a consult will be made with one of our physicians at the time of your appointment. Some doctors also schedule follow-up appointments with our PAs or NPs.

Please feel free to address any questions or concerns with the PAs, NPs, or your physician.
